1. A 52 year old male with epigastric pain that radiates to the back, nausea and
vomiting. He claims to have felt unwell 3 days ago but thought it was a
‘stomach upset’ and has felt progressively worse. Blood tests reveal normal
serum amylase, raised serum lipase and a calcium of 1.9 mmol/L.
2. The same man presents 6 weeks
later with a fever, loss of appetite and an abdominal mass. Serum amylase is
raised.
3. Patient with dyspepsia,
abdominal pain, chronic diarrohea and steatorrhea.
4. 46 year old alcoholic presents
to A&E with severe abdominal pain. O/E there is epigastric
tenderness, abdomen feels rigid and is positive for Grey-Turner’s sign.
5. 72 year old male with fatigue,
jaundice and weight loss. O/E he has a palpable gall bladder.
